Practice 7-21-08
Got home from a long weekend in Charlotte yesterday evening, so after the normal "chill out" period I got some practicing in.  It wasn't an attempt at perfection and hard core practicing, just running through some songs.  I went through the batch of our "new stuff" that needs lyrics and all that.  Most of the songs were already in their finished musical forms, so my main bit of "work" was on Cryptic.  I'm unsure if the "happy" part of the song fits (the rest is pretty dark) and if it does fit, how it should be resolved.  Should I go back to the song proper or end it there or even go somewhere else?  Questions, questions, questions.  I'm getting a better feel for the "happy" part, which is very Who-sounding.  It's an odd transition from the middle part of the song, but I think it can work.  I'm still curious as to whether it should be a separate song and they'll just exist together or have them completely songs.  Once I get the lyrics done (I'm roughly half-way) we can work it all out.

Sent an email to a drummer last night who posted on Craigslist.  I know we're not officially putting stuff out there yet, but I figured it was worth a shot.  We'll see what happens when he replies.
